These awards recognise and celebrate the talent, skills and hard work that goes into teaching and providing education in North & North East Lincolnshire. They also raise the profile of great teaching in our community and reward those whose work deserves to be recognised amongst their peers.
Launched in December 2017 with regular coverage in the Grimsby & Scunthorpe Telegraphs, nominations will be open for a 6 week period. Finalists will be shortlisted in January by an independently selected judging panel and invited to attend the awards ceremony on Thursday 28th March 2019.
Teaching Assistant of the Year
The winner will be a teaching assistant, member or team of support staff who’s contributions deserve recognition for the positive difference that they make to improve their educational establishment.
The judges will be looking for an educational establishment that has created beneficial links and/or partnerships with the community it serves or beyond.
Award for Innovation
This award will go to a school, academy, college or University who can demonstrate innovation in a specific field to help create further opportunities and improve individual or group achievement and potential.
Teacher / Lecturer of the Year
We want to bring recognition to a teacher or lecturer who inspires and engages students to fulfil their potential and makes an exceptional contribution to the life of their school, college or university.
Star Student Award – under 16 [secondary level learning]
Awarded to an individual or group of people who rose to meet an exceptional challenge which affected themselves as individuals or their establishment during the academic year 2016/17.
Star Student Award – 16+ [all levels of education]
This award will go to an individual who has not only achieved academically but also shown model superior character
Against All Odds Award
Judges will seek an individual or group of people who rose to meet an exceptional challenge which affected themselves as individuals or their establishment during the academic year 2017.
Outstanding Sporting Achievement
An award for the educational establishment (catering for any age group) that can demonstrate an outstanding commitment to both encouraging students to be active on a regular basis with a wide participation in sports and other physical pursuits and achieving success in those activities.
Apprentice of the Year
This award will go to a student who has completed an apprenticeship within the academic year (2016/17) or is working towards an apprenticeship. Judges will be looking for someone who has made outstanding progress in both their practical work and in their studies and who have made an exceptional contribution to their workplace.
Business Support for Schools Award
Judges want to see a local business who display excellent help and support with local schools.
Lifetime Contribution Award
This prestigious award will go to someone who, according to the judges, has had a significant and positive impact on education in North East Lincolnshire over a period of years. Only the winner will be invited to the event.

Active Humber is one of 44 County Sports Partnerships in England which are funded to support Sport England's objectives to increase sports participation amongst the population.

Strengthening the Titanium Value Chain
In 2008, Cristal further expanded its titanium value chain through the acquisitions of Bemax and International Titanium Powder. Now known as Cristal Mining, it is one of Australia’s premier mineral sands companies and is headquartered in Perth, Western Australia. Cristal Mining is the largest producer of leucoxene, the sixth largest producer of rutile and the seventh largest producer of zircon globally.
ITP International Titanium Provider (ITP) was formed in 1997, now known as Cristal Metals, it was formed in 1997, now to develop and commercialize Armstrong Process™ patented and proprietary technology to produce high-purity metal and alloy powders with specific emphasis on titanium.

In 2015 Franklin celebrated its 25 anniversary with a range of events throughout the year. Franklin College’s local education context is complex and diverse. All secondary schools are now self-governing Academies (both 11-16 and 11-18) and there is a large general FE college with a growing HE provision. A further aspect of diversity lies in the proximity of selective grammar schools and other secondary provision in the neighbouring county of Lincolnshire.
Franklin is a member of the national organisation SFCA (Sixth Form Colleges Association) and the AoC (Association of Colleges). Regionally the College works with Norvic (Northern Sixth Form Colleges Federation) for the purposes of development and mutual support. The College has particularly close relationships with the Universities of Hull and Lincoln and is an Associate college of both.
Franklin are proud to be part of the Venn4 partnership with 3 other colleges in the Humber region (John Leggott College, Wyke College and Wilberforce College). The Venn4 partnership was developed by the colleges to share good practice in all areas and to work on mutually beneficial projects.

Hunts history began when it was founded in 1930 by Frederick Hunt. The business has come a long way since it's early days.
The company started with one vehicle, a Bedford Coach, based in Alford on the East Coast of Lincolnshire.
After Charles's retirement in 2013, Michael took over full control of the business. A real family firm, his wife and son are also heavily involved.
The company now has 33 vehicles and is working from two sites in Alford with further development planned.
With the help of a great staff and loyal customers, Hunts continues to flourish to this day.
John Leggott College
