Hull Daily Mail Health & Care Awards 2018
Hull Daily Mail Health & Care Awards 2018
Hosted by Hull Daily Mail
The Health & Care Awards 2018 are for Domiciliary care and community services, ward-based care and outpatient clinics, health care for mums-to-be to end-of-life care of the dying and this is our chance to say thank you to the people who are there for us when we need them most.
The care, dedication and commitment shown by the people working in the NHS in East Yorkshire; from porters and carers to surgeons and district nurses, our health care staff are going that extra mile to uphold the principles of an NHS which means so much to so many. Only in its 3rd year, it is our chance to showcase the fantastic health care across East Yorkshire’s health spectrum. We want to reward teams and individuals who go above and beyond, every day of their working life.
Outstanding Health Professional of the Year
We are looking for East Yorkshire’s best health professional. The person who has shown great dedication to duty and goes to extra mile to provide the best care possible for patients, either in the community or a health care environment. This could be a nurse, doctor, physiotherapist, radiographer, paramedic, occupational therapist or podiatrist.
Carer of the Year
Do you know a husband or wife or a relative who is putting the needs of another person first? Let us reward the carer displaying true compassion in caring for someone else.
Care Home of the Year
Caring for our most vulnerable members of society, we’re asking for you to nominate East Yorkshire’s best care home, where residents are at the centre of care. From tailoring services to meet individual needs to ensuring people are treated with dignity and respect, we’re keen to recognise the best care in our community.
One to Watch
Volunteer of the Year
Do you know someone who gives up their time to help others? From visiting the lonely and frail at home to tackle social isolation to helping out at a hospice, tell us about the special person who puts others before themselves.
Mental Health & Wellbeing Award
We’re determined at the Hull Daily Mail to ensure mental health is given parity of esteem with physical health. Do you know of a service which is offering support, advice or help in the community to encourage mental wellbeing? Is there a dementia champion in your midst who is playing a key role in helping people with memory loss? Or is there a service out there tackling depression or anxiety? Let’s give them the recognition they deserve.
Health Improvement Award
East Yorkshire is blessed by a range of community-based projects which are playing a crucial role in promoting good health. Tell us about your project and how it is changing people’s lives for the better.
Health Partnership of the Year
We are looking to reward an organisation who has been working in partnership to bring about a change in the local community. This may be a charity working with the NHS, or two NHS organisations working together or even the Police and Fire Service working in conjunction with another partner.
Innovation in Health & Social Care
In financially challenging times, innovation and new ways of working are taking centre stage. We are looking to highlight an innovative service, a team using new methods of health care or a great idea which is changing the delivery of health care to the benefits of patients.
Unsung Health Hero
This accolade awards someone outside the health service or public sector who go to extra mile, is dedicated, compassionate and has dedicated their life to either caring for others or has brought about change.
Lifetime Contribution to Health
Do you know a doctor, nurse, social care provider or healthcare professional who has dedicated their life to the NHS? Have they lived through major changes but the one thing which remains constant is their dedication and compassion for others? This award will recognise the individual who upholds the principles of the NHS every day of their working life.
